Christmas in July 2018

July 19th, 2018

It’s that time of year!!! We are celebrating Christmas in July! If you are in the area you can tune to 87.9FM the Sled and hear great Christmas music 🎶 now through August 3rd.
We hope everyone is having a great summer! Less than 90 days before setup begins!

Only 3 Nights Left!

January 4th, 2018

It is hard to believe we are nearly at the end of the light show season. It was a great year (we only had to partially shut the show down one night) and the traffic was manageable. This is such a big job to build, setup and present this light display. It would not be be possible without the generous help from our family and friends. THANK YOU!

Many times we questioned whether it was all worth it. As I said, it is a LOT of work. Then, something happens to make you understand why we do this. For the first time ever, we received not 1, not 2 but 3 cards/letters that were so sweet and generous that we wanted to share them here.

Thank you for a wonderful Holiday Season! Best wishes for a terrific 2018!

Inclement Weather Today Possible

December 4th, 2017

Good day! The Lights are up and running for 2017! With an awesome week plus under our belt. THANK YOU to all that have come out to see us and to our wonderful neighbors for graciously handling the extra traffic in our area.

With rain in the forecast today, we wanted to take a moment to remind you about our weather procedures.

Unlike most static lighs, our display is computer operated and uses software and high voltage controller boxes to control the lights. The electrical requirements for our show require us to have water sensing (GFCI) outdoor outlets in place and to use high grade electrical cords meant for wet conditions.

Rain is a particularly great problem for our show as the very nature of a GFCI outlet is to trip (or turn off) the outlet with any presence of water. With so many cords, connections and open ends in our display, it is impossible to prevent water from entering the system! That’s where the GFCI do their job – they shut down electricity and prevent the operation of the lights until water is removed from the system. It protects the electronics and protects all of us. Sometimes we can isolate this to one element and present the rest of the show with that element disabled if we can discover where the water is entering the system. Sometimes it requires us to disable the entire show. Amount of rain, how hard it falls and the length of the wet conditions also contributes to how the system reacts.

Snow is not nearly as much a problem for us as snow has to have a very high water content to be a problem for the display.

With all of that as background information we wanted all of you to understand that while you may be able to run your lights (and your neighbors may be able to) in the rain – we may or may not be able to.

Especially this evening, or When in doubt, please check this website OR our Facebook page. We will always post when the show is offline as we never want someone to come out and be disappointed!

May you continue to find peace and joy this Christmas season
