How Many Boxes of Lights Can Fit in a Motorcycle Side Bag?

Moral of this story: don’t buy a ton of Christmas lights when you are riding your motorcycle!
Santa and Mrs. Claus cut ups!
October 5th, 2011I worked with my daughter last night to transfer the wood pattern onto a primed piece of 1/2 inch plywood. Tonight I cut them out carefully with a coping saw and jig saw. Sanding and paint come next. She is going to have a blast painting them!
Buying lights!
October 4th, 2011Started buying lights last weekend! Woohoo. Started seeing them at Costco, Walmart and Target in the last week or so. Got 16 strands of 100 mini lights for $2.79 each. Also did some testing on the arches and determined that 1.25 inch PVC was too big and not flexible enough. Swapped out for 1 inch and much happier with the results. 28 days until setup activities begin!
Star cut out and painted

Here is a quick photo of the star with holes drilled for the lights. You can see the general idea of what the light pattern will eventually look like. More photos to come as we progress!
